Dyke Soccer, est. 2018

Dyke Soccer was co-founded by Alex Schmidt and Giovi Signorile in April 2018. Schmidt directed the project with support from many others 2018-2020, and worked to transition the organization to collective leadership with support from Artists’ Coop and Coop Fund in 2020. Dyke Soccer has grown exponentially, with chapters in NYC, LA, Oakland, Seattle, Portland, and soon… your hometown. The project has received press from Office Magazine, Dazed Digital, Queer York City (S2 Ep. 2), and them.

Queer Speed Cruising, socially engaged project, dimensions variable, 2018-ongoing

QSC is a collaborative project between Alex Schmidt and Lily Marotta. The pair have co-hosted interactive speed cruising experiences at Leslie-Lohman Museum, Basilica Hudson, the Windjammer, and more, with results ranging from love to heartbreak. The project has received press from Elite Daily and Queer York City (S1 Ep. 5 + 6).

Schmidt performed in the chorus of The Fool , which starred Colin Self, Raul de Nieves, EARTHEATER, and Mehron live at the Kitchen and BOFFO in 2017. The Fool received press from Art 21, ARTNews, and ARTFORUM.
